Hello everyone! We at CosMom are so excited to announce that we will be hosting a Queer Book Fair to celebrate Pride month this year.
The location is 100 Main St. Ste 2 Nashua, NH 03060
The fair will run noon-8pm on June 21st, 2025
What is a Queer Book Fair?
It’s kind of like the Scholastic book fairs we would go to back in school, but with a focus on uplifting queer authors and stories! You’ll find novels, poetry, and other writing by queer authors and literature about and pertaining to queer characters and identities, as well as peripheral merchandise by queer artists and to uplift publishers that share our stories.
How do we participate?
There are two sides of participation for the Queer Book Fair – Authors/artists, and shoppers that want to attend! This event will be running during the Nashua Pride Festival, as well as several hours before and after the scheduled activities, so please feel free to stop by before or after the parade to check us out.
For Authors and Artists, here’s a quick FAQ:
- What do we accept?
- Fiction, Nonfiction, YA, Adult, Poetry, Prose, etc. books, comics, etc. by Queer Authors
- (All of the above) featuring queer characters/subjects
- Literature/Queer literature related merchandise such as bookmarks, pencils, erasers, stationery, stickers, etc.
- How do we participate?
- We have a Google Form application set up here. This is for Authors, Artists, Publishers, Distributors, or related organizations.
- Please send an email to CosMomConShop@gmail.com with any questions regarding the application. On the application we are looking for:
- Whether you are submitting books, merchandise, or both
- Genre and target demographic for anything you want submit
- How many titles you are interesting in submitting
- What format your book is (i.e. Novel, Poetry, Comic, etc.)
- If we accept your submission, we will send you a link to a Google Form where you can fill out information about yourself and what you’re submitting. We will use this information to track inventory for the event so you can be paid accordingly!
- Send us what you want to sell to be received by 6/16/2025 at 7:30PM
- Or
- Stop by our store during open hours and drop off what you want to sell by 6/16/2025 at 7:30PM
- Unsold books will have the option of rolling over as regular consignment inventory or will need to be picked up/return shipped by (7/7/2025 at 8:00PM)
- Unsold art and peripheral merchandise will need to be picked up/return shipped by (7/7/2025 at 8:00PM)
- What does it cost?
- We will charge a 10% flat rate on all items during the Queer Book Festival to cover costs of transactions and event organization. This is for art, books, everything. You control the price of your products, so if you only sell $40, you’ll still receive $36, and if you sell $250, you’ll receive $225.
- This will also help cover shipping costs if we need to mail your items back to you.
- What if I want to bring my own stuff and participate that day?
- Our space is just fine for shoppers, but gets crowded pretty quickly if we try to have people sitting at tables displaying their wares. We will only have space for up to 3 authors/publishers to be present at this event. You are welcome to apply for a table space for a small cost, but please know that they will be extremely limited and we may not accept any applications depending on guest presence.
That said, please feel free to visit during the event itself! There will be plenty of activities nearby for the Pride Festival, including drag shows and a parade, and lots of fantastic new reads to check out.
